Corey Taylor Talks About Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame

Slipknot’s lead vocalist Corey Taylor talked about the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He referred to the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame as “a pile of garbage” during his interview.
Frontman of Slipknot was on a radio show on Iowa Lazer 103.3. During his interview at that show, Corey Taylor received some questions about his opinions on Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. Andy Hall, the radio show host, said that Slipknot may be eligible for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in the following years. While answering those questions, Taylor didn’t hold himself back.
First of all, I don’t care about that Hall, ‘cause I think it’s a pile of garbage. They don’t honor anything except pop music, really, and they only really induct real rock bands when they have to cave to pressure. They disrespected so many bands over the past by putting others in before the ones that actually deserve it, that I would probably go the way of the Sex Pistols.”
“Your Hall is a sham”
In 2006, Sex Pistols got inducted into the hall. Normally that is something that musicians and bands want to have. But Sex Pistols didn’t think like that. They even posted a note on their website, referring to Rock Hall as a “piss stain”. Corey was talking about this when he said the way of the Sex Pistols in his interview. He was also referring to Jay-Z and Tina Turner getting inducted to the Hall but important metal bands like Iron Maiden and Motörhead are not. He continued his words by saying this:
“I’d be like, ‘Your Hall is a sham. I don’t care if I’m a part of it or not. You have no idea what the spirit of rock and roll is actually about. So take this and shove it up your you-know-what.”
Corey also shared his thoughts about Slipknot fans and what they would think about that. He said, “I don’t think they would actually care if we were in, to begin with. It’s not gonna stop us from playing”
“I mean, think about it: football players, they retire and then they go. We’re still going. Why would I wanna go in the Hall Of Fame if we’re still killing?”
This wasn’t the first time Corey Taylor and Slipknot sharing their opinions about the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. They shared their negative opinions on the Hall whenever they got the question. According to Corey, Slipknot probably won’t even be nominated but he doesn’t seem to care that.
Slipknot will be on stage at Knotfest on September 25. This event will be in Iowa and they will share the stage names such as Megadeth, Lamb of God and Faith No More.
