Ed Sheeran Is Open To Making A Death Metal Album/Song
Ed Sheeran is one the most successful musicians of our date. 30 years old Englishman has plenty of songs on top of almost every music chart. Some of his songs such as Shape Of You reached billions of views and become one of the most listened to songs in the world. But today, it is not about his usual musical style. Usually, we see Ed Sheeran creating pop or folk-pop songs. But sometimes see the Englishman making some rock, hip-hop, reggae songs. During one of his recent interviews, he shared that he is not opposed to creating a death metal album.
The Sun reported that possible genre-hopping about Ed Sheeran. According to that report, Ed Sheeran was a huge fan of that genre as a kid. He was really into death metal and followed bands like Cradle of Filth and Slipknot. He even said that he learned riffs from those bands to play on his guitar.
“I was really into death metal as a kid. I listened to Cradle of Filth and Slipknot and all that stuff. I’m not saying I could ever step into that world.”
“I learnt all those riffs on guitar as a kid.”
“That’s something I’ve never thought about doing – but something I would not be opposed to creating.”
I’m not saying I could ever step into that world
But it is more like a fun comment on Sheeran’s possible future works. He is not shared or there aren’t any rumors of him working on some heavy/death metal project with some familiar bands or by himself. But as we’ve said, he is known for doing a lot of covers in different genres, his comments about death metal may be a hint about one of the secret projects that he hasn’t shared publicly. We will share any news about this situation if Ed Sheeran decides to go with “black eye make-up and a spiked dog collar” as The Sun said in their report.
Recently, with Metallica’s Black Album anniversary special releases, we’ve seen a lot of musicians from different genres get into metal music with classic Metallica Black Album songs. Sheeran is not on the list of musicians doing covers for Metallica but we may see Sheeran with different metal bands or musicians.
