Ex Kiss Keyboardist Gary Corbett Is Battling Cancer

Gary Corbett, previously a keyboardist for Kiss is in a battle with a very aggressive form of cancer. He is diagnosed with that kind of lung cancer and sadly, cancer also reached his brain and hips. His friends created a GoFundMe page to support him and his wife in the sad, devastating period they are going for now.
Making music for a living is sometimes seen as a very good thing. But it has its downsides. One of them is health insurance. Even if it is a very good, enjoyable thing during the health time, being a musician can be a problem when it comes to facing a health issue. People are getting on the edge of losing their properties to cover up the fees for treatments. Gary Corbett, former Kiss, and Cinderella keyboardist are going through that sad situation right now. He is about to lose his home to cover up the medical bills and he is still taking treatment. Before that stage, he’s gone through some radiotherapy. Now he started taking chemotherapy and immunotherapy, which both will be very aggressive. And even after taking those treatments, he is on a verge of getting more other therapies which will make the medical bill even harder for them.
That’s why that GoFundMe page is created because Gary Corbett and his wife, Leonara are in a somehow desperate situation. They are selling their home to cover up the bills and they are at a point where stopping is not an option. The money from GoFundMe is going to be used to cover Gary’s medical bills, mortgage, and other bills while he is battling that aggressive type of cancer.
Gary Corbett and Kiss
Gary Corbett played with Kiss during the Crazy Nights, Hot In The Shade, and Revenge era. Which is like the late 1980s and early 1990s. According to the official Kiss website, he played offstage keyboards and worked on back vocals during the Kiss tours around that time. Before his time with Kiss, he also made some other successful work which got him into his Kiss performance at the end. During his interview with LA Weekly, he shared his thoughts.
“There seemed to be a trend in the ’80s that bands didn’t want the image of having a keyboard player onstage. Some people think keyboards aren’t as much of a rock instrument as a guitar. Gene Simmons is definitely of that mindset. At every soundcheck, if the soundman asked me, ‘Could you just give me a couple of notes,’ Simmons would immediately put his hands behind his back and act like he was ice skating around a rink.”
