First Festival In The UK Since Pandemic – Download Festival Pilot

After a long time of waiting the world is finally started to get festivals. Many of them announced, some of them postponed but some of them started right away. One of those started festivals is in the U.K. British fans finally got the Download Pilot festival and it is going on right now.

Everyone is so happy about finally getting live events. And it’s a both-sided thing. Both musicians, bands, and fans are really happy to get those live events. With some regulations and rules all around the world, almost every country started to get events. We’ve even seen some weird and different rules about it. Some of them are criticized by some people for example the vaccination required events. But either way, we started to get events. And today, we are going to talk about an event in the U.K. They are hosting Download Pilot Festival this weekend.

Download Pilot Festival is in the Donington Park Circuit, United Kingdom, and is between Fri, Jun 18, 2021 – Sun, Jun 20, 2021. Despite all the ongoing Covid-19 situation, this event is getting 10.000 people. And actually, this is also a government project to see how things would go and how. Government officials are trying to find a way to start the live events for a while. And while the actual Download Festival is going to be in 2022, this pilot version of the Download is a very good opportunity to test things. Because of that, we are still under Covid-19 status, festival-goers need to follow the rules. These rules include social distancing and travel restrictions. They also need to show a Covid-19 negative test to attend the festival.

The lead scientist for that tests, Professor Paul Monks talked about it and explained the whole situation.

“The important part of this is to actually do this as realistically as possible. Because we couldn’t understand that risk and reduce that risk unless we do it by people acting normally.”

As we said before, this event is between Fri, Jun 18, 2021 – Sun, Jun 20, 2021. And for the bands on the stage, we can list some of them as :

And yes that is the first festival in the U.K. after a long time. We hope that the research results come okay and we see more of them.
