Iron Maiden Is Inviting Fans To The Belshazzar’s Feast
Iron Maiden fans will probably understand what is going on even before they’ve read this article. But for everyone, here’s a quick explanation. Iron Maiden fans just got an invitation for “Belshazzar’s Feast” which will happen on July 15th. Let’s explain what is going on:
First of all, let’s start with the definition of “Belshazzar’s Feast”. It is basically the story of the wiring on the wall in the Bible. That doesn’t seem like making any sense but here’s the relation with Iron Maiden. A lot of fans were talking about Maiden’s upcoming album, which they were expecting an announcement. And some fans were thinking that album is going to be called “Writing On The Wall” (Now that started making sense).
Earlier today, Iron Maiden shared a video online. This was a short, 34-seconds video. In the video, Iron Maiden frontman and singer Bruce Dickinson was wearing a “Belshazzar’s Feast” t-shirt and standing in a place looking like a theater. He was on the top floor and the place was pretty majestic, very magnificent. And in the video, Dickinson was saying:
“July the 15th. Rain or shine, heaven or hell, man or beast, you’re invited to Belshazzar’s Feast… But your mum can’t come.”
And it is not the first time we are seeing Dickinson with a Belshazzar’s Feast t-shirt. Last month he was on a TV interview with Sky News and was wearing the same t-shirt. He even got a question about Iron Maiden’s future projects and his answer was “I can’t tell you what it is, but it’s right in front of you.”
It is not just a theory that they believe the new Maiden album is going to be called Writing On The Wall. First off, a lot of graphics related to the band was featuring the “WOTW” slogan. There were also “Belshazzar’s Feast” posters in the last month’s Download Pilot festival and the date on them was 15/07 with the letters “IMXVII”. Even though there isn’t an actual confirmation a vast majority of fans think that letters are referring to Iron Maiden 17 (as in the 17th album).
Iron Maiden was silent for a while now. They haven’t released anything since 2015’s “The Book Of Souls” which they’ve recorded in late 2014 in Paris. At the moment we don’t know any details about their possible upcoming 17th album but as soon as we learn something we will be sharing them with you here, Metal Shout.
