Iron Maiden Released The First Song In 6 Years
The day all Iron Maiden fans were waiting finally came. After waiting for 6 years, Iron Maiden, a British rock legend finally released a new song. And that song is nothing else but the long-awaited Writing On The Wall. Here are all the details:
For the last couple of days, we’ve talked about Iron Maiden pretty often. That was because they were teasing a lot these days. First, we got the video of an invite. That was the Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson inviting their fans for an event called Belshazzar’s Feast. But even before that video invite, there were lots of theories about Maiden’s new song. Some fans saw some Iron Maiden posters with the WOTW initials. Even before that, we’ve seen Bruce Dickinson with a Belshazzar’s Feast but he didn’t share much information about it. A couple of days following the first teaser, Iron Maiden shared another one. This one was a short video, again showing the WOTW initials. Combining the Belshazzar’s Feast and WOTW initials, fans kind of confirmed their theories and were waiting for the release. And today, the time has finally come and Iron Maiden released their new song: Writing On The Wall
About The Music Video
Their new song The Writing On The Wall is written by Maiden members, guitarist Adrian Smith and lead singer Bruce Dickinson. Kevin Shirley did the production and it was co-produced by Maiden bassist Steve Harris.
For the music video, they worked with animation experts to create the idea in Dickinson’s mind. They’ve worked with Mark Andrews and Andrew Gordon who are huge Iron Maiden fans and former Pixar animation experts who worked for projects such as The Incredibles”, “Ratatouille”, “Brave”, “Monsters Inc.” and “Finding Nemo”. They’ve worked with London based animation studio called BlinkInk, which previously worked with huge companies like Adidas and Coca-Cola.
For the music video, Bruce Dickinson said:
“I had a pretty clear idea of the concept to accompany the song and when I met Mark and Andrew, on Zoom, it quickly became clear we were all very much on the same wavelength, and this was reinforced with the addition of Nicos and his young BlinkInk team. Our weekly team Zoom meetings were then usually both highly creative and a lot of fun! I’m very proud of the way the video turned out. It’s more like a mini-film, really. I knew it was going to work out as soon as Mark brought my treatment to life with his incredible storyboards. I thought we could make something very special together. I think we did and hope our fans will agree. In fact, it’s pretty much created by MAIDEN fans!!”
