Kid Rock Defends Using Slur During Liveshow
American musician Robert James Ritchie a.k.a. Kid Rock was on a show at Smithville, Tennessee on June 5. During his live show at FishLipz Bar & Grill, the 50-years-old musician used some “inappropriate” words. And a couple of days after that show, today he defended himself on his personal Twitter account.
All that events started during his show. While Kid Rock was performing on stage, someone from the audience started filming with their phones. Normally we can see time to time when musicians react to fans recording and not listening to their performance. But Kid Rock showed a different type of reaction to that situation. His reaction was a bit harsh and inappropriate. When he sees the fans recording, he started shouting at them as “fuck your iPhone”, but this isn’t his only reaction. After that, he conituıed and added “you fucking f*****s with your iPhones out!!!” While he was reacting to that situation, security reportedly said to the audience to put their phones down.
After that situation at his live show, Kid Rock was under the spotlight for his homophobic statements. And today, he answered his critics. Kid Rock shared a tweet from his official account and defended his opinions on this act. He even used that specific word in his tweet. (For the sake of this article we are going to use the censored version.) You can see the mentioned video below.
“If Kid Rock using the word f****t offends you, good chance you are one. Either way, I know he has a lot of love for his gay friends and I will have a talk with him. Have a nice day. –Bob Ritchie“
Other Situations
This is not his first time being under the spotlight for such actions. In 2019, he was in an argument including Ophrah Winfrey. In a video about this situation, he can be heard when saying “Fuck Oprah. Oprah Winfrey is, like, ‘Hey, I just want women to believe in this shit.’ Fuck her. She can suck dick sideways.”. In a separate situation, he was escorted out by security officials before an appearance at The View show. Last month, he showed his support to Morgan Wallen when he was removed from music stations after saying the N-word in a video.
Kid Rock is also known for supporting former United States President Donald Trump. He was also considering a run in the elections for the U.S. Senate seat from Michigan.
We will probably see more of his controversial acts in the following time. So far he is not facing any legal situation for his statements during the show.
