Radio Station Removes Steel Panther After Playing “Gloryhole” on Live
One of the radio stations in South Africa and Rhodesia, LM Radio removes Steel Panther‘s ‘Gloryhole’ song after Playing live. Steel Panther‘s members also react to this via social media.
LM Radio is an African radio station that promises to broadcast “the smoothest tracks from the ’70s to now.’ However they just had a minor hiccup owing to a Steel Panther song. On October 16th, 2022, the radio broadcasted the band’s, for want of a better description, Steel Panther‘s “All You Can Eat” album song ‘Gloryhole.’
After this case, LM Radio shared a statement about why they removed the Steel Panther’s song:
“On behalf of LM Radio. I want to apologize unreservedly for the song ‘Glory Hole’ by Steel Panther that was played just after 2 pm yesterday.
This song, together with others from Steel Panther, was inadvertently backed up onto our Server following the cyber-attack on our systems earlier this year. When an Hour is short-scheduled, the system automatically includes songs to fill the hour. ‘Glory Hole’ was unfortunately the song picked by the system.
We have immediately deleted all Steel Panther songs from our servers. I again apologize for this and assure you that the content of that song does not resonate with who we are as a radio station and as individuals.”
Eventually, Steel Panther‘s response was very different and mainly composed of laughter. They quoted the now-deleted comment from LM Radio in their initial post, stating this via social media:
“They say, We’re sorry. We say, You’re welcome.”
Also, Steel Panther just unveiled “On The Prowl,” their first new album in four years, along with the lead track “Never Too Late (To Get Some P***y Tonight),” which will never air on LM Radio. “On The Prowl” will release on February 24th, 2023.
