Who is Spiritbox band, and what’s their musical genre?
Spiritbox is a Canadian heavy metal band. Spiritbox was founded in 2017 by husband and wife team guitarist Mike Stringer and vocalist Courtney LaPlante. Courtney LaPlante, Stringer, and drummer Zev Rose make up the band’s entire lineup; former As I Lay Dying bassist Josh Gilbert also performs live with the band.
According to vocalist Courtner LaPlante, they were inspired by lots of metalcore, post-metal, djent, progressive metal, alternative metal, and nu-metal bands too: “Alt-metal with elegant vocals and thunderous djent grooves. My main goal with this band is fluidity.”
