The Beatles Guitarist Paul McCartney Recalled How the Band Ended
There is no doubt that The Beatles is one of the biggest and the most talented rock music bands in history. And recently, its former guitarist Paul McCartney appeared in an interview, where he also talked about the disbandment of The Beatles, reflecting his feelings and following days.
Even though The Beatles was disbanded more than four decades ago now, after a ten-year career, their music is still a huge inspiration and joy source for people. Some of those songs of the beloved rock band’s that are still listened to all around the world are Hey Jude, Come Together, She Loves You, Let It Be, A Hard Day’s Night, Blackbird, A Day In The Life, Here Comes The Sun, In My Life along with many more.
And the band’s former guitarist Paul McCartney recalled The Beatles and its disbandment days after 4 decades, during an interview. Reflecting on their breakup, the talented musician talked about how The Beatles ended, after he was being asked, “How hard was it to figure it out, what was your emotional state like in that period between the dissolution of The Beatles and figuring out what to do next?”
“It was quite difficult because I didn’t know what to do at all, and I didn’t really have any brainy ideas except, ‘If I want to continue in music, maybe I’ll form another band…’,” started telling those days, the guitarist of The Beatles.
“But then, how do you do that after The Beatles? How can anything I do be as good as The Beatles? The Beatles were a very special combination of talents. You had me doing what I do, you had John [Lennon] doing what he does, and then you had George, who by then had come on as a very strong songwriter, and then gluing it all together. And you had Ringo.
So, that was something very special, as has been proved by its longevity, and the stuff we did together still sounds good, still lives today. It was a question of, ‘How can you get better than that?’ And I think I just had to say, ‘Well, you can’t, but if you want to keep going, you should maybe think about starting something else.’,” the talented musician expressed and moved on telling how he formed a band with his wife in the first place.
“So, I did. I talked to my wife Linda and said, ‘Do you want to be in a band? Do we want to start a band?’ And the idea then was, ‘OK, the only way I can do this is to start like The Beatles did, at the bottom, and just play some little clubs or whatever it was.’
We’d play little gigs, and it gradually walked up that staircase again, until you were now at the top. And so that’s what I did with Wings, but it was a very difficult period before we decided to do that – when I was just kind of lost,” finished telling how the following days went through after The Beatles disbanded.
On the other side, McCartney is also best known for his American rock band Aerosmith as the founding member, lead guitarist, backing, and occasional lead vocalist. The talented musician’s latest album titled McCartney III was released on December 18, 2020. Paul McCartney released 18 solo studio albums in his long and successful career.
