What do we know about U2’s new album?
As fans of the U2 band, we have been anticipating the release of their new album. Here is everything we know so far about this highly anticipated album. From the album title to the tracklist, from the recording process to the release date, we will cover it all. So, let’s find and explore the world of U2’s new album Songs of Surrender, and U2’s 2023 tour details.
Who is the producer of U2’s “Songs of Surrender” album?
The follow-up to U2’s album “Songs of Experience,” Songs of Surrender released today. This album was also produced by The Edge in Edge’s home, France, and recording studios in London and Los Angeles. Many producers and musicians, including Bob Ezrin, Declan Gaffney, Stjepan Hauser, and Duncan Stewart, worked with the band members during the sessions.
When is the release date of U2’s new album?
‘Songs of Surrender‘, a collection of 40 songs from U2’s discography, is intended to increase Bono’s biography, Surrender: 40 Songs, One Story. The album is out today on March 17th, 2023.
The Edge also talked about the ‘Songs of Surrender’ album:
“Music allows you to time travel, and we became curious to find out what it would be like to bring our early songs back with us to the present day and give them the benefit, or otherwise, of a 21st-century reimagining. What started out as an experiment quickly developed into a personal obsession as so many of our songs yielded a new interpretation.
Intimacy replaced post-punk urgency. New tempos, new keys. And in some cases, new chords and new lyrics arrived. A great song, it turns out is kind of indestructible.”
He also added:
“In revisiting these recordings with producer Bob Ezrin, it was very easy to see those that worked right away and those that needed more work. We all understood that less is more. Hearing the songs interact, and finding the running orders for the four albums was really thrilling; finding the surprising segues, getting a chance to DJ. Once we had four distinct albums it was easy to see who would be the figurehead for each one.”
