Lars Ulrich interview on how long Metallica will be touring for decade
Lars Ulrich reveals Metallica will keep touring for a decade. Metallica’s drummer Lars Ulrich just shares how long the Metallica will continue to tour in support of their new album ’72 Seasons,’ ahead of their M72 world tour.
Metallica’s extensive touring history is well documented. Metallica has been performing live since the early 1980s, and their tours have taken them to every corner of the globe. Fans have been eagerly awaiting news on Metallica’s future touring plans, and in a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Lars Ulrich shed some light on the matter.
When Revolver Magazine asked about how long Metallica will keep touring, Lars Ulrich stated;
“It’s not something we’ve talked a lot about, no. I think most of the energy and the resources go into trying to stay healthy, stay cohesive, stay functioning. As I get older, I spend more and more of my time on my daily workouts, on my cardio, on my strength training. I’m chained to my Peloton hours a day. It’s all about trying to stay healthy: eating healthy, living healthy, whatever it is each of us need to bring to the table.
Obviously, there is a point where it’s maybe not going to function anymore at some level, where we can’t play “Battery” or “Master of Puppets” or songs like that. I know there is some people in the comments section that think that point has already come. And I appreciate that.
But the only thing I can say is that it hasn’t happened yet, knock on wood. Hopefully, it won’t happen for a while. I mean, McCartney’s out there past his 80th birthday. The Stones are still out there. Springsteen just started his tour.”
However, Lars Ulrich also acknowledged that the band’s touring schedule has become more grueling over the years. He explained that the band now takes longer breaks between tours to avoid burnout and ensure that they can continue to perform at their best. This approach shows that Metallica is committed to delivering high-quality performances to their fans, and they understand the importance of taking care of themselves to achieve this goal.
Despite the challenges of touring, Metallica remains one of the most popular and influential bands in the world. Fans can expect the band to continue to release new music and tour extensively in the coming years.
Metallica has always been a band that pushes boundaries and explores new musical territories. Metallica’s new album, “72 Seasons,” is a testament to this. The album showcases the band’s ability to create music that is both heavy and melodic.
In addition to new songs, fans can also expect Metallica to continue to push the boundaries of live performance. The band is known for their elaborate stage setups and visually stunning shows, and they have no intention of slowing down in this regard. With each new tour like the M72 world tour, fans can expect Metallica to deliver a unique and unforgettable live experience.
