Ozzy Osbourne Announce New Album Will Release in 2024
In an interview, the famous heavy metal superstar Ozzy Osbourne announced that he plans to start recording a new album early next year and will release the upcoming album in 2024.
The famous heavy metal pioneer, whose previous album releases include Ordinary Man and Patient Number 9, publicly stated his plan to launch a new album at the start of 2024 during a talk with Brent Porche of Philadelphia’s 93.3 WMMR radio station.
Here is the interview between Ozzy Osbourne and Brent Porche:
“Being laid up for about five years because of the surgery thing and the fall I had, I was going nuts. So I met Andrew Watt and did a couple of albums together. And I’m waiting for him to get free to do another album. ‘Cause everybody wants to use him now. I’m just starting to work on the album now, and we’ll be recording in the early part of next year. I want to take my time with this one.
Personally, I like to get stuff – before I go in the studio. But the last couple of albums, I had to do differently. A lot of it was done as we went along. It’s gonna be maybe one. I have had all the surgery now, thank god. I’m feeling okay – it was just dragging on. I thought I would be back on my feet months ago, I just couldn’t get used to this mode of living, constantly having something wrong. I can’t walk properly yet, but I’m not in any pain anymore and the surgery on my spine went great.”
A few months ago, Osbourne refused to get into his last surgery and said:
“I am honestly humbled by the way you’ve all patiently held onto your tickets for all this time, but in all good conscience, I have now come to the realization that I’m not physically capable of doing my upcoming European/UK tour dates, as I know I couldn’t deal with the travel required.
Believe me when I say that the thought of disappointing my fans really f***s me up, more than you will ever know. Never would I have imagined that my touring days would have ended this way.
So, if I can ever get back to where I can tour again, fine. But right now, if you said to me, ‘Can you go on the road in a month?’ I couldn’t say yes. I mean, if I could tour I’d tour. But right now I can’t book tours because right now, I don’t think I could pull them off. If I get OK today. If the doctor said to me today, ‘Oh, you can tour.’ It would take another six months to get it together, you know? The only thing I’ve got that keeps me going is making records. But I can’t do that forever. I gotta get out there.”
At the 65th annual Grammy Awards, held in February at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, “Patient Number 9” received a Grammy in the “Best Rock Album” category.
Ozzy has won three Grammy Awards and was nominated for eight more. Ozzy earned a solo Grammy Award in 1993 for “Best Metal Performance” for “I Don’t Want To Change The World,” as well as two Grammys as a member of Black Sabbath in 2000 for “Iron Man” and in 2013 for “Best Metal Performance” for “God Is Dead?” from “13.”
