Robert Trujillo Talks About How Metallica Works Out Before Concerts

Robert Trujillo talks about how Metallica works out before the concerts. Here are Metallica‘s routines before the shows.
During a new interview with Lauren “Lern” Elwell of the 105.7 The Point radio station’s podcast program, Metallica‘s bass player Robert Trujillo explains what happens behind the scenes for Metallica’s concerts. Fans are also curious about the routine before a Metallica member’s show to get them ready for the high-energy intensity of the show.
There is a unique new in-the-round stage design for the “M72” tour, which moves the famous Metallica‘s Snake Pit to the middle of the stage. Fans who buy a two-day ticket will see over 30 songs from the band’s more than 40-year history, and Metallica says that fans won’t see the same song twice.
Metallica is going to 22 places worldwide and having two nights in each one. Five Finger Death Punch, ICE NINE KILLS, MAMMOTH WVH, PANTERA, ARCHITECTS, GRETA VAN FLEET, and VOLBEAT, are some of the bands that will be opening.

Robert Trujillo interview about Metallica’s pre-show workout:
“So, before we take the stage, we all have our regimen. And it does definitely include stretching. Kirk Hammett is an avid yoga guy; that’s what he does every day. James Hetfield gets the PT work done. I do a bit of PT, but I also like to go to the gym, even before I come to the venue and do some — well, kind of light training.
A lot of it’s more kind of geared towards movement, kind of rolling around on the floor, doing various drills and stuff like that. It sounds pretty weird and strange, but it actually works really well for the type of performance we do. Lars Ulrich has a whole deal that takes literally like 75 minutes or something, and he has to stick to that. He’s kind of wired that way, where it’s certain things — a bit of a creature of habit, and that’s the way it is. So, we all have our routines that we do, and it just works for us.
“To be in this business this long and to perform for two hours, doing what we do, especially on this stage — I don’t know if you’ve seen it, but it’s crazy, it’s a beast.
It’s involved. There’s a lot of cardio involved, all this kind of stuff. You get to navigate the terrain after a while. It’s one of those things that just comes with time, especially on this stage. So, you basically cater to the needs of the performance and where you’re at with yourself and the transitions and how you eat and life. Things like Jack Daniel’s and tequila shots and all that kind of stuff till five in the morning, maybe not so much.”
Let’s check what Robert Trujillo also talked about his favorite Metallica song and album before:
“Well, I’m gonna take ’72 Seasons’ out of the equation right now because that’s not fair. Because that would be the album I would choose right now. But I would have to say…
That’s a tough one right there. I’m gonna go for ‘Master Of Puppets’. I feel ‘Master Of Puppets’ has a lot of everything. It’s got instrumentals, it’s got great segues, great riffs. It’s got one of my favorite songs ever by Metallica, and that song is ‘Disposable Heroes’.
So any time I can hear that particular song, count me in. ‘Battery’ is an amazing song. So it’s just got everything that I love about Metallica.”
