Maneskin Reveals Dialogue with The Rolling Stones Guitarist Keith Richards
Maneskin recalls The Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards. In a recent interview with Jimmy Fallon, Måneskin‘s vocalist Damiano David recalls the meeting and Keith Richards’ reaction to their music:
“Keith Richards said, ‘I don’t know who the f**k you are, but they tell me you’re good.’ He said, ‘You play real instruments, so keep going. And then he vanished.”
Måneskin bassist De Angelis also added: “It was, like, our first stadium so it was crazy. And also it was iconic because we got the chance to talk with him and he was so nice, and knew a lot of our music and stuff. And then we met Keith Richards, and he was like – affects gruff English accent – ‘I don’t know who the fuck you are, but they tell me you’re good, so…’ and we were like, Okay!”
X Factor, where they finished as runners-up. From there, the band has been unstoppable, releasing hit after hit, and performing in sold-out shows across Italy. Their hard work and dedication paid off in 2021, when they won the Eurovision Song Contest with their hit song “Zitti e Buoni.” The win marked a significant milestone for the Italian music industry, as Maneskin became the first Italian band to win the prestigious competition.
