Throughout its almost 4-decades-lasted career, Megadeth has been preparing to release its new album, titled “The Sick, The Dying And The Dead“, for a while. And finally, the regarded band’s talented guitarist and vocalist Dave Mustian came bearing good news, as he revealed that their upcoming album has been mastered and is “super close” to being released.
Megadeth‘s upcoming album has been awaited eagerly by fans, especially after Dave Mustaine revealed its name along with more details about it, back in the summer. And finally, during a recent interview, the talented musician brought good news, talking about their new album, The Sick, The Dying And The Dead, along with revealing its release date. Mustaine said that “We’re super close to having ‘The Sick, The Dying And The Dead’ out. We’ve been mixing and mastering it, and the mastering was done yesterday. So now it’s off to the label, and pretty soon it’s gonna be in your very talented hands.”
Pointing the LP’s title track is about the plague, but not all about the current pandemic, Dave Mustaine explained the upcoming album actually contains other epidemics from centuries past along with the current virus, we have been battling with, and more.
“The song itself was a historical journey of how the plague started and where it went, starting with rats on ships carrying the disease, coming ashore in Sicily,” Megadeth vocalist Mustaine starts, as he also explains that they have actually assembled “The Sick, The Dying And The Dead” from riffs and music he has been gathering for years, saying, “A lot of the riffs have been saved over time. A brand new song can be made up of something I wrote when I was 15 or 55. If It’s a good riff, I’ll save it.”
Later that, Dave Mustaine also pointed out that the widely regarded band’s guitarist Kiko Loureiro and drummer Dirk Verbeuren both performed in the songs of the new album of Megadeth, which also includes Loureiro’s parts, as he worked on them from his home in Finland. Also, David Ellefson’s parts in the album were removed, as it had been revealed after his dismissal from the band, although it hasn’t been revealed still who would take his parts, on the other hand.
The former bassist and co-founder of the regarded metal band, Megadeth, David Ellefson got kicked off from the band after some disturbing messages and video footages involving him were revealed. And after he got fired, Ellefson formed his own band named The Lucid. On the other side, he only released one solo album titled Sleeping Giants, during his ongoing career with Megadeth in 2019.
And finally, Megadeth is on its way to meeting its wide fanbase again with its new album, after releasing 6 live albums, 6 video albums, 7 compilation albums, and 15 studio albums along with many more amazing works beside them, along with becoming one of the biggest thrash metal bands worldwide selling almost 40 million records all around the world. And after the band’s latest and fifteenth studio album, Dystopia, which was released in 2016, Megadeth members announced that they have started to work on their sixteenth album titled The Sick, the Dying… and the Dead!, which is now also reported by Mustaine that it’s almost here, gladly.
