Skid Row Will Perform Slave To The Grind in Anniversary
Skid Row is preparing to celebrate its 30th anniversary for the classic second album “Slave To The Grind” very soon. They are going to celebrate this albüm with a concert.
This concert is going to be at The Amphitheater at Rolling Hills Casino And Resort in Corning, California on July 11. They are going to perform the entire Slave To The Grind albüm on stage. All that news started last year when Skid Row bassist said that they were planning to do a 30th-anniversary concert.
“We’ll do the album in its entirety, and then we’re gonna do a bunch of stuff to coincide with it. We’re pretty psyched, and the shows are booked. We’re keeping our fingers crossed that everything is gonna come to pass… It’ll be cool, to go out there and do ‘Slave To The Grind’ top to the bottom. That’ll be fun.”
They didn’t celebrate the 30th anniversary of their debut, self-titled albüm because they thought that timing wasn’t right to do that. Rachel Bolan also talked about this non-happened-30th-anniversary:
The timing didn’t really work out. We had so much other stuff planned, and then all of a sudden, boom, it was here,” he explained. “Maybe down the road we’ll celebrate it. Maybe for the 40th anniversary.
Former Skid Row singer Sebastian Bach is also going to celebrate this anniversary this fall. Bach will perform the whole album on stage when he starts touring in October. The exact dates are yet to be announced.
In 2019, when Bach was ending his career, he sent an open invitation to all classic members of Skid Row to get on stage and play together. Guitarist Dave Sabo, also known as Snake told in an interview that he wouldn’t accept the invite because of Skid Row. But one of the former band members joined Bach for one last onstage performance. Drummer Rob Affuso was on stage with Bach at Sony Hall in New York City to play the band’s classic song “Makin’ A Mess”. Affuso left the Skid Row in 1998. In an interview, Bach received the question of his former bandmates got offended or not by him publicly inviting them. He answered:
“No. I think it’s an ego thing. They don’t like when I get attention, and they don’t get attention. It’s always been like that. I can already see them getting mad, because I’m selling out shows, and they’re not part of the show, and blah, blah, blah.”
And lastly, here is the official announcement for the Skid Row anniversary concert:
