Cannibal Corpse Releases Colouring Book Before 2024
Legendary death metal music band Cannibal Corpse is back with a new, eccentric release, but it’s not a new album. Their latest project is instead an official colouring book, a surprising first for the band, and it’s all set to release in December 2023. As outlandish of a product as it may seem, it’s surprisingly well done from previews.
Everything About Cannibal Corpse Colouring Book
Cannibal Corpse were originally formed in 1998. Over their long, illustrious careers, they grew into one of the world’s most influential death metal bands. With a focus on extreme lyricism, intense riffs and powerful drumming, they made metal history. Their graphic album art featuring violence, gore and horror elements have become iconic within the metal world.
Because of this, it’s definitely somewhat surprising to see Cannibal Corpse, of all bands, dipping their toes into coloring books. This isn’t unheard of of course, with Rock N’ Roll Colouring already making colouring books for acts such as Iron Maiden, Alice Cooper, Motörhead, Judas Priest and Thin Lizzy. With Cannibal Corpse’s strong imagery and history of detailed art, it is practically a no-brainer.

A Challenge for Artist Vincent Locke
Combing through the over 30 years worth of content and incredible artwork is a difficult challenge. Despite this, artist and curator Vince Locke is enthusiastic about the project. He’s been hard at work, resulting in many amazing designs that Cannibal Corpse officially endorsed. Artwork for the book draws from the band’s many classic albums, all the way to the recent “Chaos Horrific.”
“Going over art for the book, it was surprising to see just how much 30 years of collaboration yielded. It’s rare that I see it all compiled together. There are a few pieces that had to be included, some that were favorites of myself or the band, and some that just lent themselves well to coloring. I’m always playing, trying different materials and techniques. Hope you do the same with these coloring pages. Try watercolor markers, crayons, and colored pencils, adding your own details. You’ll probably go through a lot of red, but be creative, have fun, make it your own.”

Staying True to their Death Metal Core
While many of these images may be controversial, that simply comes with the territory. Fans of Cannibal Corpse will find a lot to love here, as artist Vincent Locke and Rock N’ Roll Colouring go to painstaking lengths to make the best product possible here. Many of these images will shock viewers, which is exactly what fans of Cannibal Corpse will want to see.
Banned in Germany
While the rest of the death metal band’s fans await this release, the official colouring book is banned in Germany. In fact, Germany bans all Cannibal Corpse content due to its graphic nature. Germany even bans the heavy metal band from playing ANY of their songs inside the country’s borders. True metalheads will find a way, though.
If you’re a Metalhead, outside Germany, looking forward to getting a copy for yourself, then we’ve got good news! The Cannibal Corpse colouring book will be available starting December 1, 2023 with worldwide shipping everywhere except for Germany. Make pre-orders through Eyesore Merch. A few of these books will feature an exclusive postcard signed by Vince Locke himself.
If you’re a big fan of colouring books or the band themselves, what are your thoughts on their new official colouring book? Do you like how extreme it is, or do you feel it’s a little excessive? Perhaps you think it’s a bit silly of a concept in the first place? Let us know in the comment section below!
