Queen Guitarist Brian May Reveals Fresh Information for His Upcoming Solo Album

The iconic rock band Queen guitarist and founder, Brian May appeared in an interview recently, revealing brand new information about his plans for his upcoming solo album.
As one of the biggest rock bands in all history keeps growing its fan base, Queen still remains its career for more than 5-decade with lots of successes it has achieved along the way. So, it’s no secret as well that its members are also doing just great, as much as they do in their bands. And recently, the founder member and the guitarist of Queen, Brian May recently appeared in an interview, as he revealed he’s been thinking about making his upcoming solo album instrumental, along with more details.
After being asked if he ever thinks about recording another solo album, May answered and talked about his plans for his upcoming solo album, saying,
“Yeah, I do think about it. And strangely enough, I think it probably would be instrumental this time. Because I have enough ideas. And I have lots of unfinished business. So, yeah, I do think about it. And maybe the opportunity is coming up,” points out Brian May, as he also continues and touches on the unlucky postpones’ of their upcoming tour with Queen.
“We have a big world of touring to do. And we’ve been postponing and postponing the Queen tour, which we started just before covid happened. Next May, we will be doing a bunch of touring. Once that’s done, I think I will have the opportunity to sit down, and if I’m spared, as my mum used to say, and I’m still functional, I think I might make that album. Probably not before. I don’t think I can do it right now. I’m too involved in the reissues. Actually, I’m loving this. I’m really enjoying going through and polishing. I have ‘Another World’ to do next. I’m going to do ‘Star Fleet’, which is the one with Eddie Van Halen, after that. There’s a mountain of stuff that I want to polish up and put out there, so it’s there. It’s a good, good feeling to have it out there.”
Brian May is Queen’s guitarist and one of the founding members, as he performed in all Queen’s efforts during his still ongoing tenure with the band. On the other hand, May has also two solo albums outside the band, as well, which is seeming to be expanded in the future, hopefully. Back in 1992, May released his debut solo album named Back To The Light. After that, his second album called Another World was released in 1998. Although May’s first debut album was unavailable on CD and streaming for a long time, it reached 6th place in the U.K. album chart back then, before it was finally reissued as several formats, including bonus live and studio songs recorded, as well.
Throughout its career, Queen debuted its self-titled album back in 1973 and has sold more than 300 million albums worldwide, as it also released 15 studio albums, 11 box sets, 10 live albums, 2 EPs, 72 singles, and much much more. After Freddie Mercury passed away in 1991, the popular band worked with Paul Rodgers from 2004 to 2009. And since 2011, Queen has been continuing its career with Adam Lambert called Queen + Adam Lambert.
As Queen came back together in 2011, the iconic rock band’s guitarist Brian May has always kept going with his solo career outside of his tenure with it, as well. And May is also known for being great friends with the guitarist of Black Sabbath, Tony Iommi, as he has been determined as Rock God by him. In one of his recent interviews, Iommi talked about his friendship with the long-serving guitarist of Queen, Brian May, giving him credit for his ultimate guitar skills, and more.
